Is a 22lb turkey too big for a Vertical Smoker (Brinkmann)?

I have a basic vertical Charcoal smoker and wanted to try smoking a turkey on it. I have successfully smoked turkeys on my Weber Grill, so was anxious to try the vertical smoker. Most of the recipes that I see suggest a 12-16 lb turkey. I realize that it will need to smoke or 16 or so hours, but is this a problem?

If you accidentally swallow a whole turkey leg, will you be able to poop it out without any permanent damage?

…and how bad will it hurt? I’m asking for a friend!
